Take Me Back

Take me back to long ago,
The time that I cherish so.
           You were young,
           And I was too.
And our love was sparked brand new.

I think about what has passed,
Though I know I can't go back.
           You would smile,
           And I would melt.
I gladly took what fate had dealt.

I'd watch you though starry-eyes,
An angel in human guise.
           You would sigh,
           My heart would race.
All I knew was your embrace.

To me, you're an angel still,
Placed upon a pedestal.
           I love you,
           And this is true.
Let's make our love spark anew.
